The app allows you to limit the number of emails that are sent on each inventory check.
In app go to Settings -> Application to find the "Limit emails to available inventory" setting.
Changing the setting to Yes will limit the number of emails to match the inventory level of the product.
Example:
A product has 50 customers registered for back in stock emails.
Inventory check runs at 2:00 pm:
The product has 15 in inventory, 15 emails are sent
Inventory check runs at 3:00 pm:
The product now has 10 in inventory (5 were sold in the last hour), 10 emails are sent
Inventory check runs at 4:00 pm:
The product now is out of stock again. no emails are sent this round, but 25 customers still remain on the list until more inventory is added.
